Reading, UK – Landways, a leader in high-performance infrastructure systems, has been appointed by Reading Football Club to deploy an enhanced audio service at the Select Car Leasing Stadium for the 2025/26 season. The first phase of the solution will go live on 16 August, when Reading face AFC Wimbledon in their second home league fixture of the season.
Phase One of the project focuses on the stadium bowl. Visitors will notice a marked improvement in the clarity and volume of matchday announcements and music playout. The system is an interim solution prior to a full audio upgrade, the first phases of which will arrive later in the season.
Enhancements to the audio system in the Princess Suite will follow before the end of 2025, delivering a high-quality audio system to this large entertainment space.
Chris Smedley, Chief Executive at Landways, commented: "We are delighted to be working with Reading FC on this first step in their plans for improving the technology systems at the Select Car Leasing Stadium. Our goal is simple: to address some of the current issues with audio performance at the stadium and create an immediate improvement for the fans, while longer-term improvements take shape.”
Rob Couhig, Chairman of Reading FC, stated: “We’re excited to begin our partnership with Landways to significantly enhance the matchday experience at the stadium. Over the next year, we’ll be rolling out full Wi-Fi coverage to every seat, upgraded video and CCTV systems, and state-of-the-art audio throughout the ground.
As part of these improvements — and while laying the foundations for the full project — an interim audio system will be in place from this Saturday, delivering clearer, better sound for supporters.”
